Minor smoke breaks out at HSIA

DHAKA, July 15, 2018 (BSS) – The minor smoke that broke out today inside Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) has been disappeared within few minutes before hampering any regular operation of the country’s prime airport.

“There was smoke, but we didn’t see any fire. It was a very minor incident ….. the smoke has gone after few minutes and didn’t hamper airport operation even for a second,” Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Md Mohibul Haque told BSS over the phone from HSIA.

After being reported about the smoke incident fire units of HSIA and Uttara zone rushed to the spot and take the situation under control right way.

Haque said the high officials of Civil Aviation Authority and Fire Service and Civil Defense also rushed to the spot and inspected the situation.

“Currently, the fire fighters are inspecting to find out the source of smoke,” he said.

Uttara Fire Service officials said smoke has been seen on the first floor of the Terminal 2 after the immigration area around 6 pm this evening.
