Diver’s recover body of drowned girl from Meghna River

BRAHMANBARIA, July 15, 2018 (BSS) – The body of a female student of a
private university, who along with another mate went missing while bathing in
Meghna River at Char Sonarampur on Saturday, was recovered from rail bridge
area in Ashuganj upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sanzida Binte Prapti, 21, a third year
student of Computer Science and Engineering department of Notre Dame
University here and resident of Laxibazar area in the capital.

Ashuganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Moushumi Bine Hira said seven
students of the private university went on a boat journey at Char Sonarampur
on Saturday.

At one stage, two students — Sanzida and Ishrak alias Mehrab, 20 — went
missing in the river while bathing in the evening.

On information, divers of local fire service station in association with
the members of Bangladesh Navy rushed in and started the rescue operation.

The floating body of Shanjida Binte Prapti was found 18 hours after she
went missing in the River Meghna.

The body of Ishrak alias Mehrab remains missing till filing of the report.
