Sylhet mayor candidates pledge to resolve city problems

DHAKA, July 15, 2018 (BSS) – Two mayor candidates of Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) today pledged to resolve different problems of the city if they are elected in the upcoming city elections.

They made their commitment at a dialogue titled ‘Sanglape Nagorik Ogradhikar’ between two mayor candidates and local people and journalists of Sylhet at a hotel.

Democracy International organized the dialogue with the financial assistant of USAID and UKAID, said a release here.

The two mayor candidates are Awami League-backed Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran and BNP-backed Ariful Haque Chowdhury.

The representatives of Sylhet city people talked about the modernization of waste management, pure drinking water, adequate primary schools, health service centers, removing water logging problem and traffic jam and ensuring safety of all city dwellers.

The two mayor candidates assured that all the problems would be solved if they are elected in the city polls, the release added.
