Bodies of mother-daughter recovered from water tank in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 15, 2018 (BSS)- The bodies of a mother and her daughter
were recovered from a reserve water tank in city’s Ambagan area on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as former Rupali Bank Principal Officer Shah
Meherun Nessa Begum, 67, also owner of Meher Monjil and her mother Monowara
Begum, 97, wife of late Fazlur Rahman, hailed from Ambagan area of Khulshi
Thana.

The duo lived on the ground floor of the Meher Monjil building while the
remaining floors were under construction, said Sheikh Nasir Uddin, officer-
in-charge of Khulshi thana.

The unmarried Meherun Nessa has four brothers and four sisters, some of
whom live abroad and they lived alone at the house.

“A relative of the victims found the door open while visiting the house
around 8am today and reported the situation to the police after they could
not be found,” Nasir Uddin said, adding that police went to the scene and
found the bodies in the reserve tank.

Police recovered the bodies with the help of firefighters, he said.

The OC said, “We believe that the victims were dumped into the water tank
after killing and police are investigating the crime scene.”
