DHAKA, July 15 , 2018 (BSS)- Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,
Mongla and Payra have been advised to continue hoisting local cautionary
signal number three as the low over northwest bay and adjoining area
intensified into a well-marked low over the same area.

“The low is likely to intensify further and move in a northwesterly
direction…under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over North
Bay and adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh,” according to a Met office
warning message issued today.

Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and
adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh. All fishing boats and trawlers over
North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with
caution till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into the
deep sea.

Moreover, river ports of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla,
Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number
one till 6 pm today as rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary south
or southeasterly gusty or squally wind speeding 45-60 kph is likely to occur
over the regions.
