DHAKA, Feb 24, 2021 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today
expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of prominent economist and
former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled.
In a condolence message, the minister said the contribution of Khaled to
the banking sector will ever be remembered.
Khaled served as a chairman of Krishi Bank, managing director of Sonali
Bank, Agrani Bank and Pubali Bank and director of Kochi-Kachar Mela, he said.
Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, prayed for eternal peace
of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Khaled breathed his last this morning at the intensive care unit of
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital. He was 80.
