All performing religious rituals peacefully in Bangladesh: Speaker

DHAKA, Feb 16, 2021 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today said that everyone is performing their religious rituals independently and peacefully in the non-communal Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The speaker made the remarks while addressing the inaugural function of cultural event, bani archana and ‘shukla’ programme on the occasion of the Saraswati Puja, said a press release.

Saraswatotsab Samannay Parshad of the Bangladesh Parliament organized the event at Rajdhani School ground at Manik Mia Avenue in the city this evening.

Dr Shirin said, “Today’s Saraswatotsab is being celebrated with the collective efforts of all, maintaining the health guidelines in view of the coronavirus epidemic. Such a beautiful arrangement will inspire everyone with a non-communal spirit”.

The Speaker called upon all to work together to build a non-communal, developed and prosperous Bangladesh.

JS Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah also addressed the function with Pankaj Debnath, MP, in the chair.

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, lawmakers Ashim Kumar Ukil, Manoranjan Shil Gopal and Basanti Chakma as well as officials of the Parliament Secretariat were present at the function.
