Razzaque for mechanization of agriculture

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2021 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Mohammad Abdur Razzaque today said a total of 284 new posts for agriculture engineer have been created to promote mechanization of agriculture.

“A project worth Taka 3000 crore has been undertaken to mechanize the agriculture” the minister added.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on Krishibid Dibosh-21 at Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Auditorium at Bangladesh Agriculture University in Mymensingh, said a press release.

Bangladesh Agriculture University Alumni Association arranged the discussion and greeting.

He urged agriculturists to innovate newer technologies to mitigate future food demand as the population of the country is rising.

With Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Agriculture University Dr Lutful Hassan in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by State Minister for Cultural affairs KM Khalid, Shahdara Mannan, MP, Mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation Ekramul Haque Titu, Senior Secretary from Agriculture Ministry Md Mesbaul Islam, Food secretary Dr Mosammat Nazmana Khanum, Secretary for Fish and Livestock Ministry Rownak Mahmud, former Vice President (VP) of the University Nojibur Rahman, Md Yasin Ali and Md Rahmatullah, Executive President of the Alumni Md Hamidur Rahman, General Secretary Bodiuzzaman Badsha and former Chhatra League President Abul Fayez Kutubi.

Dr A K M Zakir Hossain presented a key note paper in the meeting where Registrar of the University Md Siful Islam delivered welcome speech.

Cover of a little book (Pustika) on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 100 statements was unveiled after the discussion meeting. Swadhinata Padak winner and Freedom Fighter Nazmul Ahsan (posthumous), Ekushey Padak recipient Dr Samsul Alam and Dr Md Jahangir Alam Khan were greeted in the function on the occasion of Krishi Dibosh at Agriculture University.
