Govt. strives hard for wellbeing of the people – Shahab Uddin

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2021 (BSS) – Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister M Shahab Uddin today said the government has relentlessly been working to bring smiles on the faces of the underprivileged people.

“According to the plan of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government is working to bring smiles on faces of the poor people,…no one will remain homeless and social security would be ensured by providing assistance to the helpless and poor people through various allowances,” he said.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a function organized by upazila administration at Juri Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Moulvibazar district, said a press release.

The Minister said massive development works has been continuing in the country amidst COVID 19 pandemic .

He urged all country people to take the free coronavirus vaccine provided by the government.

Juri Upazila Nirbahi Officer Al-Imran Ruhul Islam presided over the function while Moulvibazar Zilla Parishad Chairman and District Awami League General Secretary Misbahur Rahman, Juri Upazila Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha MA Moeed Faruk, Upazila Vice Chairman Rinku Ranjan Das, Women Vice Chairman Ranjita Sharma, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Masuk Ahmed and Acting Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Md. Sujauddaula were present.

According to Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer, 1510 people of the upazila were given 30 kg of rice per month through VGD card, 963 poor mothers were given maternity allowance amounting to TK 800 per month and two sewing machines from personal funds of the environment minister.

Earlier, Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin inaugurated a newly built four-storied modern building by the district council in Juri upazila at a cost of around TK 2.57 crore.
