Faridul lauds Bangabandhu’s contribution to building non-communal BD

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 3, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Religious
Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan, MP, today said that Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had laid the foundation of
building a non-communal Bangladesh.

“Bangabandhu had laid the foundation of building a non-communal
Bangladesh by inclusion of the principle of secularism in the
constitution of Bangladesh. Under the leadership of his worthy
daughter and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is now being
established as an ideal country for communal harmony,” he said.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion titled ‘Father
of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Life and Work and
his Contribution to Maintain Communal Harmony’ organized by the
Islamic Foundation, Chattogram Divisional Office at Jamiatul Falah
Mosque Complex Auditorium here.

The state minister further said that Bangabandhu was a sincere
believer with a liberal spirit, adding that he never used Islam for
political purposes.

As a humanitarian leader, he (Bangabandhu) always strived to make
Bangladesh a land of peace for people of all believers, he added.

Since communal harmony is a much desired issue in the current days,
he said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is determined to maintain
communal harmony in this country at any cost.

With Chattogram Divisional Commissioner BM Azad in the chair, the
discussion was attended, among others, by Prof Dr Abu Reza Muhammad
Nezamuddin Nadwi, MP and Secretary to the Ministry of Religious
