Govt is working to implement second perspective plan 2041: Lawmakers

SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 2, 2021 (BSS)- Lawmakers today said after implementing the first perspective plan, the government is now implementing the second perspective plan.

“The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has completed the first perspective plan vision 2021 and now working for implementing vision 2041,” said Amir Hossen Amu MP while taking part in the general discussion on a thanksgiving motion on the President’s speech in the House here.

Bangladesh has now upgraded to a middle income country from the lower income level under the vision-2021 and now the second phase works from 2021 to 2041 are underway for turning the country into a developed one, said the lawmaker of Jhalokhati-2.

At the same time, the government has taken eighth five- year plan from 2021 to 2025 for eliminating the extreme poverty, said the treasury bench lawmaker in the thanksgiving discussion.

“The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Haisina is working to upgrade the country into higher middle income country by 2030 and a rich country by 2041,” said State Minister for Water Resources Jahid Faruque.

To fight against the pandemic, he said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced incentives of Taka 1,21,353 crore and 21 stimulus packages in an attempt to recover the economy from the ongoing disaster. “Even a single person had not reportedly been died due to starvation during the pandemic,” said Faruque also a lawmaker of Barishal-5.

Participating in the discussion, Chief Whip Nur-E Alam Chowdhury said the government led by prime minister Sheikh Hasina is trying to turn the rising population of the country into resources, adding that that’s why a total of 100 technical schools and colleges have already been set up at 100 upazilas and 329 more institutes will also be set up in phases.

The lawmakers thanked President Abdul Hamid for elaborating the development and progress of the country which have been taken place during the tenure of the present government.

The lawmakers highlighted the successes of the present government in different vital sectors like education, power, agriculture, health, infrastructure development, economy and food production.

Treasury bench lawmakers Monoranjan Shil Gopal of Dinajpur-1 and Kazi Monirul Islam of Dhaka-5, also took part in the discussion.

Earlier, chief whip of the treasury bench Nur-E Alam Chowdhury came up with the proposal on thanksgiving motion which was unanimously adopted at the closing session in the house.

A total of 133 members of parliament took part in the discussion.
The lawmakers also thanked the President for giving a timely speech highlighting the successful stories of the government and guiding the nation towards peace, progress and prosperity.

Earlier, they paid a rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his contribution in establishing an independent Bangladesh.
