Kings maintain winning run in BPL

DHAKA, Jan 27, 2021 (BSS) – Holders Bashundhara Kings maintained
their winning run in the Bangladesh Premier League beating old Dhaka
outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 3-0 goals held today
at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.

With the day’s win, Bashundhara Kings dominated the league table
with 12 points from four matches while Rahmatganj MFS remained at
their previous collection of one point playing the same number of
matches.

In the day’s match, Brazilian forward Robson and striker Tawhidul
Alam Sabuz scored one goal each for Bashundhara in both halves while
Rahmatganj’s defender Mahmudul Hasan Kiron scored a suicidal goal in
the injury time of the first half as Bashundhara registered their
fourth successive victory in the league.

Robson opened an account scoring the first goal for Kings
converting a spot kick in the 34th minute while Rahmatganh’s defender
Kiron doubled Bashundhra’s goal margin when he scored a suicidal goal
in the 45+2nd minute of the match.

After the breather, Sabuz completed the winners’ tally scoring the
second goal for Bashundhara in the 86th minute of the match.

Bashundhara Kings dominated the entire proceeding and notched their
deserving victory while Rahmatganj were totally off-colored on the
day.

Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Mohammedan
Sporting Club Limited on February 1 at Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium
in Comilla after the match between Rahmatganj MFS and Uttar Baridhara
Club scheduled for January 31 at BNS.

Earlier, Bashundhara Kings made a winning start in the tournament
beating by 2-0 goals to Uttar Baridhara Club, beat Bangladesh Police
Football Club by 2-1 goals in their second match and edged past
Brothers Union Club by 1-0 goals in their third match.

While Old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society played
1-1 draw with Saif Sporting Club in their league opening match, lost
to Sheikh Russel KC and Dhaka Abahani Limited by the identical margin
of 0-1 goal in their second and third league matches respectively.

Thursday’s matches: Mohammedan Sporting Club vs Abahani Limited at
Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium in Comilla at 3 pm, Chittagong Abahani
Limited vs Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra at BNS at 3.30 pm and Bangladesh
Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra vs Saif Sporting Club Limited at BNS
at 6 pm.
