49, including drug traders held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, July 12, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested
49 persons including 20 drug traders and eight activists of BNP from
different areas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 349 bottles of Phensidyl and 100 pieces of Yaba
tablets during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested 12 persons including
eight activists of BNP, Biral Thana police arrested two persons, Birampur
Thana police arrested seven persons including five drug traders, Kaharole
Thana police arrested two persons, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested one
person, Bochaganj Thana police arrested four persons, Nawabganj Thana police
arrested three drug traders, Phulbari Thana police arrested two persons,
Parbatipur Thana police arrested four drug traders, Khansama Thana police
arrested one person, Birganj Thana police arrested three persons and
Ghoraghat Thana police arrested three drug traders with 30 bottles of
Phensidyl.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending
with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources
added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
five drug traders with 319 bottles of Phensidyl and 100 pieces of Yaba
tablets around 11pm from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the
district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
