Bangladesh, West Indies reach Chattogram

DHAKA, Jan 23, 2021 (BSS)—Bangladesh and the visiting West Indies cricket team reached Chattogram today to play the third and final ODI of the series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed.

They will play the first of the two-match Test series here also at the same venue. Both of the teams, who are in the bio-bubble for the series, arrived in the port city through a special flight. The teams have checked into the hotel and will be resting today before getting onto the field for practice tomorrow.

Bangladesh has an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series following their six and seven wickets win respectively at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. The hosts, no doubt, will be aiming to inflict whitewash on the Caribbean. In contrast, the visitors will try to earn some solace by winning the third ODI. The win also will give the tourists some confidence ahead of the first Test.

Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal however hinted that the side will break the winning combination to give some players a chance to play in the third ODI.

After playing the third and final ODI, West Indies will play a three-day practice game against BCB XI at MA Aziz Stadium as part of their preparation for the Test series.

The first Test of the series will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium from February 3-7 while the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium will host the series-ending second Test from February 11-15.
