Police Super Badminton final held in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Jan 22, 2021-The final competition of Police Super Badminton Tournament-2020 was held on the premises of Superintendent of Police (SP) office yesterday evening amid much enthusiasm and with festivity

Gaibandha district police arranged the competition marking the Mujib year, officially termed as Mujib Borsho, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, Rangpur Range Devdas Bhattacharya at the function and addressed it as the chief guest.

He said sports are essential for physical and mental development of a young man or woman. As we all know that living a relaxed and comfortable life we need a sound mind and a sound body but to get a sound mind and sound body there is no alternative to sports, Devdas Bhattacharya added.

The DIG of police put emphasis on involving all particularly the youths to different types of sports to get a sound mind and sound body and to keep the youths away from all types of drugs to build a happy and prosperous country.

He also thanked the district police led by SP Towhidul Islam for arranging such the competition as it undoubtedly would play a significant role to build the relationship between the police and the public.

Later, the DIG distributed the medals to the winners as prizes.

The police super thanked all concerned for completing the competition successfully and peacefully and the invited guest for attending the function defying the cold wave with fog.

A large number of people from all sections of people, town elite, invited persons and journalists were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the SP formally inaugurated the competition on December 23, 2020 as the chief guest.
