MANIKGANJ, Jan 19, 2021 (BSS) – A man was killed and 15 others were injured in a head on collision between a passengers bus and an engine driven auto-rickshaw near Kittingchar area on the Manikganj-Hemayetpur Regional highway today.
The deceased was identified as Shah Alam, 40, son of late Dalil uddin of Angara village under Singair upazila of the district. He was also a driver of the auto-rickshaw.
Singair Police said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound passengers bus of Shuktara Paribahan collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw in the area around 9 am, leaving Shah Alam dead on the spot and injuring 15 others.
The body of the deceased was sent to Manikganj district 250-bed hospital morgue for autopsy.
Among the wounded, 5 are the passengers of the auto–rickshaw and 10 are the passengers of the bus. Most of the injured were admitted at Singair Upazila Health Complex.
A case was filed in this connection.
