Stocks perform mixed on higher transactions
DHAKA, July 11, 2018 (BSS) – Stocks performed mixed on Wednesday with major indices finishing flat despite increasing the daily transactions.
The trade value at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased to Taka 1,115.30 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 1,088.19 crore and the trade volume was up to 30.78 crore from 29.22 crore shares of the last session.
The broader DSEX index of DSE closed the day with 7.94 points up at 5,379.24. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 3.48 points up 1,915.34. But the Shariah DSES closed the day with 4.03 points down at 1,266.99.
At DSE, out of the day’s 341 securities, prices of 153 securities closed higher against 157 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Queen South, Peninsula, Bengal WTL, Legacy Foot and Miracle Industries.
The major losing issues were Aziz Pipes, BPML, DSSL, Apex Foods and PDL.
BPML topped the turnover list followed by Peninsula, RSRM Steel, BBS Cables and Beximco.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with slightly up with its major CASPI 88.64 points up at 16,637.43.
At CSE, issues traded 250 issues. Of those, 110 closed higher and 122 closed lower when1.87 crore shares worth Taka 58.56 crore changed hands.
