DHAKA, July 11, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today urged the BNP leaders to take part in the next parliament elections to test their popularity.

“The Khulna and Gazipur city corporation polls proved the popularity of the Awami League government…If you (BNP) want more proofs, then come in the next general polls,” he said, speaking at a workshop on women leadership at a hotel in the city’s Gulshan area.

Centre for Research and Information (CRI), a research organization of Awami League, organized the workshop.

Quader said, “We won’t come in power again if the country’s people do not vote for us…You (BNP) can test your popularity by joining in the next parliament elections.”

He said the country will turn into the play ground of terrorists if BNP comes in power only for one day and the old ‘Haowa Bhaban’ will turn into ‘Khaowa Bhaban.’

Bangladesh will become world champion in corruption if BNP comes in power again, the minister said.

The AL general secretary said it will be clear whether BNP will go in election or not after the announcement of election schedule in October.

He said the release of BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia is a matter of court, not of AL.
