91 more test positive for COVID-19 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 15, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 91 people were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,668 samples at eight COVID-19 laboratories in the district.

Among the newly detected patients, 80 are from Chattogram city and 11 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached at 31,924 amid the frequent decreasing trend of daily infection rate in the recent days here, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

Among the total infected patients, 24,901 are the residents of the port city and the rest 7088 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district

A total of 30022 coronavirus patients have so far recovered from Covid-19 and the percentage of recovery rate stands at 94.11 percent in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said.

Dr Fazle Rabbi said that the death toll from the virus rose to 367 with one fatality reported afresh in the last 24 hours.

Among the 367 fatalities, 261 are from Chattogram city and 106 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

A total of 1,933 infected patients were also undergoing treatment in designated hospitals in the port city.
