CHATTOGRAM, Jan 13, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 127 people were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,265 samples at eight COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
Among the newly infected patients, 105 are from Chattogram city and 22 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached at 31,780 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.
Among the total infected patients, 24,753 are the residents of the port city and the rest 7071 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district
A total of 29,854 coronavirus patients have so far recovered from Covid-19 and the percentage of recovery rate stands at 94.25 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said.
The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutives real- time PCR tests were found negative, he said.
Dr Fazle Rabbi said that the death toll rose to 365 with no fatality reported afresh in the last 24 hours.
Among the 365 fatalities, 260 are from Chattogram city and 105 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
