RAJSHAHI, Jan 12, 2021 (BSS)- Integrated efforts of all government and non-government organizations concerned have become crucial to bring all the dropout children to back school and guide them to contribute to the nation building activities.

Besides, concerted efforts will supplement the government’s efforts of building worthy citizens through freeing the nation from the curse of illiteracy.

The views came up at a daylong advocacy workshop on ‘out of school children education programme’ hosted by the Non-formal Education Bureau at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Rajshahi today.

The District Administration and the Education and Research Institute in Dhaka University jointly organized the meeting.

DC Abdul Jalil, Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain and Deputy Director of the Department of Local Government Division Shahana Akhter Jahan addressed the meeting as resource persons, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Quamruzzaman was in the chair.

Assistant Director of the Non-formal Education Bureau Anwar Kamal gave an illustration related to the importance of bringing all the dropout children to school for building them into worthy citizens.

He said collaboration between the formal and non-formal primary education needs to be increased to promote sharing and learning of best practices.

DC Abdul Jalil in his speech said utmost emphasis should be given on creating a second chance to complete primary education for the children who are out of school (never enrolled or dropped out) for any reasons through flexible learning strategies.
