SANGSAD BHABAN, July 10, 2018 (BSS) – A report on the Power and Energy Quick Supply increase (Special Provision) Amendment Bill, 2018 was placed in the Jatiya Sangsad for maintaining the progress of the power and energy sector of the country corresponding with the development plan.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Md Tazul Islam placed the bill in the House with Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah in the Chair.
Placing the report on the bill, the standing committee chairman said the existing “Power and Energy Quick Supply Increase (special provision) Amendment Act, 2010 will be expired within October 11 in 2018.
So, the tenure of the act needs to be expanded for maintaining the progress of the power and energy sector for implementing the ‘Vision 2021’, he added.
Committee members State Minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid, Md Atiur Rahman Atique, Md Abu Zahir, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Md Sibli Sadique and Begum Nasima Ferdousi participated in the meeting for further scrutinize the bill
