Abbas president, Farid general secy of Ctg press club
CHATTOGRAM, Dec 31, 2020 (BSS) – Ali Abbas and Chowdhury Farid have been elected president and general secretary of Chattogram Press Club respectively for the next two-year term.
The biennial election of Chattogram Press club for the session 2020-21 was held today (Thursday) at the press club premises.
A 15-member committee was elected with direct vote of the members.
The other office bearers are – Senior vice President Salauddin Mohammad Reza, vice President, SM Ibrahim, joint secretary Nazrul Islam, finance secretary, Rashed Mahmud, cultural secretary Nasir Uddin Haider, sports secretary Devasis Barua Devu, library secretary Minto Chowdhury, social secretary Ayub Ali and publicity secretary Aliur Rahman.
Besides, four executive members viz. Shahadullah Shahrier, Moazzamul Hoque, Deblal Bhowmik and Manzur Kader Manzu were elected in the election, sources said.
After counting the ballotts, the result was disclosed tonight in a meeting, of the election conducting committee, headed by chief election commissioner Omar Kaiser.
A total of 240 voters out of 254 exercised their franchise in the election.
CPC senior member Nurul Amin presided over the function.
