Amu for building united resistance against communal forces

DHAKA, Dec 13, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League Advisory Council Member and Central 14-Party Alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu today called upon all for building united resistance against the communal forces.

“Anti-liberation forces are again out to hatch conspiracy to halt the country’s progress and development. We will have to be united with the spirit of Liberation War to resist the communal evil forces,” he said.

Amu was addressing a virtual discussion arranged by the 14-Party alliance on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day.

He said the evil forces, which had killed the country’s intellectuals at the fag-end of the 1971 Liberation War to make the new-born nation as brainless, are still hatching conspiracies against the country.

The communal forces mounted up in the country following the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, 1975, he added.

Amu said General Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia gave shelter and political patronization to the anti-liberation forces.

He said the attack on Bangabandhu sculpture is an attack on the Bangalee culture and its entity.

Speaking on the occasion, AL Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed urged the people to remain alert about those who are against the country’s independence, sovereignty, Liberation War spirit and constitution.

Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon said the successors of the killers of intellectuals are involved in the vandalism of Bangabandhu sculpture.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President Hasanul Haq Inu called upon all to build united resistance against those who oppose Bangabandhu, the country’s independence and the constitution.

AL Cultural Affairs Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil moderated the function while AL Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Jatiya Party-JP General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Bangladesh Tariqat Federation Chairman Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandari and leaders of 14-Party alliance also addressed the virtual discussion.
