NARSINGDI, Dec 3, 2020 (BSS) – An Advocacy meeting on ‘Family
Welfare Services and Publicity Week-2020’ was held at the conference
room of Deputy Commissioner’s Office here on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Syeda Farhana Kawnine addressed the function as
chief guest, while Assistant Police Super Ashak Suja Mamun spoke as
special guest.
It was addressed, among others, by Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon
office, Dr Nasimul-al Islam, Medical Officer, Mother and Child Health
Care Unit, Dr Wasim Kumar, Family Planning Officer of Sadar upazila
Mohammad Sabuj Hawladar and Family Planning Officer of Polash upazila
MM Khairul Amin. Deputy Director (DD) of Family Planning Department
Arabindha Datta presided over the function.
The speakers called for bringing all able couples under the
permanent long-term family planning programmes to keep the population
growth under control. Emphasis should also be given to reduce maternal
and infant mortality rate for achieving the sustainable development
goals by 2030 declared by UNDP, they said.
