FF and ex UPEO Amirul Islam passes away

MANIKGANJ, Dec 2, 2020 (BSS) – Md Amirul Islam, a valiant Freedom Fighter and former Upazila Primary Education Officer (UPEO) died of COVID-19 at Government Employees hospital, Dhaka early hours of today.

He was 69, family and hospital sources said.

He also lost his wife who died of COVID-19 at the same hospital day before yesterday.

Amirul Islam left behind a son, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.

His only son Mahmudul Hassan is working as Assistant Commissioner (Land) at Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi, two daughters are employed at government primary schools and one of his sons-in- law Md. Rasel Khan is serving as Associate Professor at Faridpur Government College.

He was buried today at Bandutia grave with full state honour after namaz-e-janaza held on the premises of Bandutia High School premises here.

Manikganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Ashraful Alam, Deputy Commander of Manikganj District Freedom Fighters Command Council Md. Momin Uddin Khan, Manikganj District Awami League Vice President Md. Ramjan Ali, Convener of Manikganj District BNP Advocate Zamilur Rashid Khan, former Chairman, Manikganj Sadar Upazila, Ataur Rahman Ata, local Freedom Fighters and people of all walks of life attended the Janaza.
