Residential hostel for working women inaugurated at N’ganj

NARAYANGANJ, July 7, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque said today that as per the commitment of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina utmost security would be provided to the working women in their work places and residential hostels to accelerate the pace of development in the country.

He stated this while inaugurating the construction work of modern multi-storied residential hostel for working women at Rajbari under Bandar upazila in the district this noon.

Organized by Labour and Employment Ministry, it was addressed by Chairman of Bangladesh Senakallyan Sangstha Major General Firoz Hasan, DG of the ministry Shibnath Chakroborti and BKMEA President A K M Selim Osman, MP.

The hostel, having a five-bed hospital and a labour welfare center, would be built on 0.54 acres of land at a cost of Tk. 54 core. After completion, over 700 working women would be accommodated in it.

In the afternoon, a public meeting was held at Bandar Ferry Ghat. State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque spoke it as chief guest.

Organized by Bangladesh Jatiyo Sramik League, the meeting was addressed by BKMEA president and Lawmaker A K M Selim Osman, Advocate Hosne Ara Bablee, MP, Bandar upazila chairman Ataur Rahman Mukul and former Commander of Narayanganj district Muktijoddah Sangsad Mohammed Ali, among others.
