Save the Children aids Gaibandha flood-hit families

GAIBANDHA, Nov 21, 2020 (BSS) – Save the Children, a humanitarian international organization, stood beside 2450 flood-hit families of four unions in Sadar and Saghata upazilas of the district with cash support and hygiene kits to mitigate their hardship.

The organization, under the project of Emergency Support of Flood Affected Family-2020 with the financial support of USAID, helps them and conducts motivational activities on various issues including following health guidelines and maintaining social distancing for protecting them from coronavirus.

SKS Foundation, a local voluntary reputed organization, distributed the cash money and hygiene kits to the selected flood-hit families of Kamarjani and Gidari unions of Sadar upazila and Saghata and Holdia unions of Saghata upazila on behalf of the Save the Children, said Tapon Bala , project officer.

Each of the beneficiaries received cash TK 4500, a basket with a mug, 10 pieces of soap, 500 grams of detergent powder, 8 pieces of soft cloth for using sanitary purpose and a box of mask, he added.
