Teacher fined under RTI Act

DHAKA, Nov 17, 2020 (BSS) – The Information Commission has imposed a fine of Taka 5000 on the assistant teacher of Kurigram Government Girls High School for not providing necessary information as per the Right to Information Act (RTI).

The Information Commission gave the verdict through a virtual hearing held at the Information Commission today.

Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Mortuza Ahmed and Information Commissioners Suraiya Begum and Abdul Malek conducted the hearing.

As per the complaint, applicant S M Arshad from Kurigram sought a set of question papers for admission in class 3 in the academic year 2020 and the subject based number and quotas of all the candidates participating in the admission test of Kurigram Government Girls High School to the concerned school’s officials.

The respective official did not provide the information, and asked the applicant to apply later in this regard.
