Schools to be brought under MPO as per MP’s announcement: Muhith

DINAJPUR, July 5, 2018 (BSS) – Finance Minister AMA Muhith said there is
no logic to wage movement for enlisting educational institutions under
Monthly Payment Order (MPO) facility as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has
already announced to bring private educational institutions under MPO as per
the government’s rules.

“There is no logic to wage movement for MPO because Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina has announced in the Jatiya Sangsad to enlist private educational
institutions under MPO as per the government rules,” said the finance
minister while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a 4-storey building of
Nurul Huda High School.

The government has constructed this modern school building at a cost of
Tk 29,634,000 near the Shaheed Captain Mahbub Cantonment at Kholahati of
Parbatipur upazina in Dinajpur.

Muhith said country witnesses massive developments when Sheikh Hasina
remains in power. The government has increased budgetary allocation as part
of its plan to ensure quality education of every child, he said, adding that
the education sector has given the highest Tk 659,500,000 allocation in the
budget for fiscal year 2018-19.

“Construction of a 4-storey modern school building at this remote village
of Parbatipur demonstrates the government’s seriousness in spreading
development at the grassroots level of the country,” he said.

Muhith said teachers should play responsible role so that students can
get time-befitting education at schools. The government is working to ensure
quality education for students across the country, he added.

Chairman of the school’s governing body and managing director of Shakti
Energy Company Nurul Alam presided over the ceremony while Primary and Mass
Education minister Mostafizur Rahman, former secretary Lutfullahil Mazid,
deputy commissioner Dr ANM Abdus Sabur, police super Md Hamidul Alam,
Dinajpur Education Board secretary Md Aminul Islam and Nurul Huda High School
headmaster Iqbal Ahmed, among others, spoke at the programme.
