Country has lost a gem like Barrister Rafique-ul Huq : Chief Justice

DHAKA, Nov 1, 2020 (BSS) – Recalling the country’s renowned lawyer and former attorney general Barrister Rafique-ul Huq, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has said the country has lost a gem with his demise and it would never be fulfilled.

He said this while addressing a doa-mahfil organised by the family memebrs of Rafique-ul Huq at the auditorium of the Supreme Court Bar Association here today.

The chief justice said there was no branch of law where Barrister Rafique-ul Huq did not roam.

Barrister Rafique-ul Huq name is found in every branch of law and important decisions, he said.

With Barrister Rafique-ul Huq’s brother Manzur-ul Haq in the chair, the doa-mahfil was addressed , among others, by Appellate Division Justice Obaidul Hasan , High Court Justice M Enayetur Rahim, Justice Emdadul Haque Azad and President of the Supreme Court Bar Association and Attorney General AM Amin Uddin.

Barrister Rafique-ul Huq passed away at a city hospital at the age of 85 on October 24.
