Two children drown in Bogura
DHAKA, Oct 31, 2020 (BSS) – Two children drowned in separate incidents at Shibganj and Dhunat upazila of Bogura district on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased are Nafiza Khatun, 2, daughter of Shohel Rana and Sabbir Hossain, 10, son of Omar Faruque.
In Shibganj, Nafiza fell into the pond near their house while playing beside it and drowned, said Haridash Mandol, inspector of Shibganj Police Station.
After searching, the body of Nafiza was recovered from the pond.
In Dhunat, Sabbir fell into Ariamara canal while he was fishing there with his two friends, said Elangi Union Parishad member Msud Rana.
Hearing screams, locals rescued Sabbir and took him to Dhunat Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
