National Youth Day to be observed on Nov 1

DHAKA, Oct 29, 2020 (BSS) – The National Youth Day will be observed
on November 1 across the country in a befitting manner.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP,
disclosed the details regarding the programmes of the Youth Day at a
press conference held at the conference room of the Ministry of Youth
and Sports here today.

This year’s Youth Day has been named ‘Bangabandhu National Youth
Day 2020’ on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of the great
architect of independence, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman.

The day will be celebrated on November 1 through various programs
across the country and in the ongoing situation of COVID-19, it has
been decided to organize all the programmes of this year’s Youth Day
on a limited scale following proper health rules.

With the aim of building the ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu
and keeping in mind the creativity, self-confidence and enthusiasm of
the youth, this year’s theme of the day is ‘Mujib Borsho er Ahoban,
Jubo Karmasangsthan’.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell said that
the inaugural function of Bangabandhu National Youth Day 2020 will be
held on November 1 at 10.00 am at Ganabhaban and Osmani Memorial
Auditorium in the capital.

In recognition of exemplary contribution to setting up
self-employment projects, 21 successful self-employed youth and five
successful youth organizers will be given National Youth Awards this
year, he added.

Besides, commemorative stamps and envelopes will be unveiled on the
occasion of Bangabandhu National Youth Day, he said.

Similar programmes will be held in every district and upazila of
the country, he continued.
