Taposh to formulate Mayor’s Optional Fund Management Policy
DHAKA, Oct 27, 2020 (BSS) – Initiatives have been taken to formulate an optional fund management policy for the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation.
A draft of the policy was presented at the fourth board meeting of the corporation’s second council held at the Mayor Hanif Auditorium in Nagar Bhaban today, seeking the views of councilors.
Later, the councilors expressed their views on the issue and thanked the DSCC mayor for taking the initiative, said a press release.
Regarding the initiative and relevance of policy formulation, the mayor said, “The mayor of the corporation has the authority to use an optional fund. But so far no policy has been made for the management of that fund”.
“Although the management of this optional fund is the sole prerogative of the mayor, I want the management of this fund to be fair and systematic in the light of a policy,” he added.
