‘Bangladesh is a soil of communal harmony ‘- Smriti

GAIBANDHA, OCT 24, 2020 (BSS)- General Secretary of Bangladesh Krishak League, central committee, Umme Kulsum Smriti MP today said Bangladesh is an abode of excellent communal harmony.

“The people irrespective of religions and communities of this country have been performing their rituals independently and peacefully, pleasures and cheeriness of the celebration of Durga puja is not only confined to the Hindus but to all Bengalese from ages”, she said.

Umme Kulsum Smriti, MP made the comments while visiting different puja mandaps of Sadullapur upazila of the district this morning.

During her visit to various puja pandels Umme Kulsum Smriti, exchanged greetings with the Hindu religious leaders the members of puja celebration committee and said, Durga puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community is a symbol of rich heritage, tradition, peace, amity and co existence of all people.

“The present government led by prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to maintain communal peace and harmony among different religious groups as guaranteed as the fundamental rights of the country’s constitutions, she added.

She also distributed grants from her personal fund to different puja mandaps to help celebrate the festival peacefully.

Sadullapur upazila Parishad Chairman Shahriar Khan Biplab and other leaders of Bangladesh Awami League upazila unit and its associate organizations were present on the occasion.

Earlier, leaders of puja celebration committee and the devotees received the MP showering petal of flowers.
