SANGSAD BHABAN, July 04, 2018 (BSS) – The Power and Energy Quick Supply
(special provision) amendment Bill , 2018 was placed in the Jatiya Sangsad today with
a view to increase the supply of power and energy for quick implementation of the
development plan.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid placed the bill
in the House with Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair.
Placing the bill, the State Minister said the existing “Power and Energy Quick Supply
(special provision) Act, 2010” will be expired on October 11, 2018, so it is necessary to
review the act.
“Although the power and energy situation of the country has significantly progressed
…so it is necessary to increase the time frame of the act for maintaining the progress of
the power and energy sector as per the target in favour of implementation the “vision-
2021” by the government,” said the minister in his address.
The amended act will help fast implementation of the plan for fulfilling the increasing
demand of the power and energy, he added.
The State minister urged the House to send the bill to the parliamentary standing
committee for providing report within three days.
