CHATTOGRAM, Oct 20, 2020 (BSS) – A doa mahfil was held at Chattogram Press Club (CPC) auditorium seeking early recovery of Information Minister and Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) Dr Hasan Mahmud.
CPC and Chattogram Union of Journalists (CUJ) jointly organised the doa mahfil.
CPC General Secretary Farid Uddin Chowdhury delivered the welcome speech while its President Alhaj Ali Abbas, CUJ President Mohammad Ali, its general secretary M Shamsul Islam, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Terming the present government as journalist-friendly one, Ali Abbbas said Dr Hasan Mahmud under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working for the welfare of journalist community in the country.
Dr Hasan has worked for people taking risk of his own life amid the coronavirus pandemic, he added.
Khatib Maulana Mohammad Monirul Islam Rafiq of Hillview Jame Mosque conducted the doa and millad Mahfil.
Imrul Karim Rashed, personal officer of Information Minister, Kalim Sarwar, former president of CPC, Salahuddin Mohammad Reza, senior vice-president, former CPC general secretaries Helal Uddin Chowdhury and Mohsin Chowdhury, among others, were present.
Dr Hasan Mahmud has been admitted to a hospital in the capital with coronavirus infection since Friday night.
