DHAKA, Oct 20, 2020 (BSS) – The Dhaka University (DU) authorities are likely to take division-wise offline entry test and curtail total marks for the academic year 2020-21 to stem the spread of coronavirus.

The Deans of the university today placed the recommendations in the deans committee meeting presided over by DU Vice-chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman, DU Pro-VC (education) Prof ASM Maksud Kamal told BSS.

The recommendations will be finalised at the next academic council meeting to be held in December.

“Dean’s committee suggested not to go for online admission test and to hold division-wise tests. In this case, exam centers will be set up in divisions across the country,” said Maksud.

The marks for the admission will be curtailed to 100 from 200, said Makusd.

The minimum criteria for applying in different units will remain same and the authorities will fix the dates after the results of HSC are published.

Earlier on October 17, Bangladesh Bishwabidyalaya Parishad, an association of public university vice-chancellors, decided to hold admission tests for the academic year 2020-21.
