President mourns death of writer, researcher Rashid Haider
DHAKA, Oct 13, 2020 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Bangla Academy director, Liberation War researcher and noted writer Rashid Haider.
In a condolence message, the President said the research works done by Rashid Haider on our Great Liberation War would encourage the next generation to find out the root cause of the struggle.
“Rashid Haider will be remembered for his research and literary works for long,” he added.
‘Ekushey Padak’ and ‘Bangla Academy’-winning litterateur Rashid Haider died of old-age complications at around 10am here today at the age of 79.
The head of the state prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
