DHAKA, Oct 09, 2020 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque today congratulated the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020.
In a congratulatory message, the minister said the WFP is working relentlessly on food security all over the world, including Bangladesh.
The award, he said, will greatly inspire the WFP, which is committed to building a world to be freed from hunger and poverty. The award-winning organization will be encouraged to intensify its initiatives, especially when food security is at extreme risk in many
countries around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic, he added.
The prize will also strengthen the message of working together on food security, he added.
The minister also thanked the Norwegian Nobel Committee for giving the Nobel Peace Prize to the WFP.
