79 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 8, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 79 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in Chattogram district, raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the division to 19,327.
After testing samples of 976 suspected persons at the five COVID-19 laboratories here, 79 positive cases were detected.
Among the fresh cases, 58 are from Chattogram city and 21 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
The total number of infected patients now stands at 19,327 in Chattogram district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.
Among the total infected patients, 13,912 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5412 are residents of different upazilas of the district.
A total of 1162 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 14743 have recovered and 297 died. The rest 3125 are receiving treatments from their homes through hotlines and telemedicine in the district, Dr Fazle Rabbi said.
“The percentage of recovery rate now stands at 78.20 percent in the district,” Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, added.
