JS passes Sugar (Road Development Cess) (Repeal) Bill, 2018
SANGSAD BHABAN, July 3, 2018 (BSS) – The Jatiya Sangsad today passed the Sugar (Road Development Cess) (Repeal) Bill, 2018 aimed at giving relief to sugarcane sellers from their imposed cess during selling sugarcane to the mill authorities.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu moved the bill, 2018 in the House, which was passed unanimously by voice votes with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
In the proposed bill, the minister said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given importance to the communication infrastructure and with successfully implementation by different ministries/divisions communication sector along with rural areas of the entire country has improved tremendously.
He said with passing of the bill, sugarcane sellers would not give cess during selling of sugarcane to sugar mills authorities.
