DHAKA, July 3, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman today said that students and their families suffer the most if unrest situation is created in the campus.

“Instable circumstances hinder students’ regular educational life. They have to refrain from such activities that create unrest situation in the university campus,” he said.

Prof Akhtaruzzaman came up with the observation while addressing a programme held at the auditorium of the Institute of Modern Languages (IML) at DU. The Daily Star in association with Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) organised the programme titled “Promoting Knowledge”.

At the programme, copy of The Daily Star was distributed among the selected students who will also get a specimen copy of the newspaper for one year.

DU VC Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to build up as worthy citizens through maintaining proper use of their time.

“Students have to acquire linguistic knowledge. They have to gather objective information instead of paying heed in rumours,” he added.

The Daily Star editor Mahfuz Anam, MTB Managing Director and CEO Anis A. Khan and IML Director Dr Shishir Bhattacharja spoke at the event.
