66 more tested positive for COVID-19 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 30, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 66 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 720 samples in five COVID-19 laboratories in the district.

Among the newly detected patients, 60 are from Chattogram city and six from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

The total number of infected patients now stands at 18805 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

Among the total 18805 coronavirus infected persons, 13312 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5493 are from different upazilas of the district.

Besides, 1,307 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 14,880 have recovered and 288 died while the rest 2,330 are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the city and district, Dr Fazle Rabbi said.

“The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as they were found negative in two consecutive real-time PCR tests,” he said.

The percentage of recovery rate stands at 79.97 in the district, he added.
