Low pressure likely to form over North Bay

DHAKA, Sept 30, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted a low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay during the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

“The axis of monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay,” said a met office release here today.

The met office also forecasted that light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release added.

Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded by 35.2 degree Celsius at Chuadanga and today’s lowest temperature was recorded by 24.8 degree Celsius at Rajarhat.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded by 47 millimeters (mm) at Rangamati.

Today’s sunset at Dhaka at 5.46pm and tomorrow’s sunrise at 5.50am.
