Call for delivering land-related services in hassle-free manner

RANGPUR, Sept 29, 2020 (BSS) – Public representatives and officials at a campaign today called upon staff concerned for delivering land-related services to common people in a hassle-free manner ensuring accountability.

They made the call at the campaign titled ‘Role of e-mutation in getting land-related services at doorsteps’ organised by Hatibandha upazila administration at Barokhata High School in the upazila of Lalmonirhat district.

The office of the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Hatibandha upazila is implementing the campaign in the upazila with assistance of Upazila Governance and Development Project, Local Government Division and Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Lawmaker from Lalmonirhat-1 constituency and former State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Motahar Hossain attended the campaign as the chief guest.

With Hatibandha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Samiul Amin in the chair, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shamima Sultana moderated the campaign arranged abiding by the health directives in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Hatibandha upazila Female Vice-chairman Jasmine Nahar, Barokhata union Chairman Abu Hena Mostafa Zamal Sohel, Fakirpara union Chairman Nurul Islam, Headmaster of Barokhata High School Md. Zahedul Bari, among others, addressed the occasion.

The speakers urged land-related service providers to become skilled enough for delivering the land-related services to people adopting digitised e-management systems to eliminate all sorts of corruptions and red-tape complexities.

The UNO said people are reaping benefits by getting land-related services like e-mutation, paying land development tax, submitting applications for Khas land, reviewing petitions and quicker disposals of their prayers.

State minister said the present government is completely strict against corruption with zero tolerance and none would be spared if found committing corruption in providing land-related services.

“The officials and employees concerned should deliver land-related services quickly to people ensuring transparency to build a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he added.
