BHOLA, Sept 29, 2020 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced a man to death penalty for killing his wife and one-year-old daughter in Daulatkhan upazila of the district in 2017.
District and Session Judge Dr ABM Mahmudul Haque handed down the verdict to Billal Hossain Patwari, 45, an inhabitant in Joynagar union under the upazila.
According to the prosecution, on June 3 in 2017, Billal Patwari killed his wife Shahnaj by setting her on fire at night at his house. His one-year-old daughter Mohona was also burned to death at the fire.
Following the murder, Shahnaj’s brother filed a case accusing four people. Police pressed the chargesheet accusing Billal later.
Testifying witnesses and evidences, the court ordered the verdict in presence of Billal Patwari this noon.
