DNCC Launches Mobile Bookstore ‘Parampara’ on PM’s Birthday
DHAKA, Sept 28, 2020 (BSS) – The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has organized a two-day special programme to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the 74th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
As part of this, two mobile book shops named ‘Parampara’ were inaugurated at Justice Sahabuddin Ahmed Park in Gulshan on Monday, said a press release.
The first day of DNCC’s programme included live paintings, poetry recitals, drawing competitions for children and prize distribution of eight famous painters of the country on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s birthday.
Local Government Minister Tajul Islam was present as the chief guest at the inaugural function presided over by Mayor Atiqul Islam. State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain and Member of Parliament and cultural personality Asaduzzaman Noor were present as special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Atiqul said the purpose of launching ‘Parampara’ is to pass on the important books written and published on Bangabandhu and the Prime Minister to the next generation.
The mobile bookstore was launched to inform people, especially the young generation about the struggling life of Bangabandhu, his contribution to the country and the visionary thinking of the Prime Minister to take the unfinished work forward.
Each mobile book shop has a large television, which will show various documentaries on Bangabandhu and the Prime Minister. The two libraries will cover 54 wards under the Dhaka North City Corporation.
