Country’s northern part may see heavy falls

DHAKA, Sept 27, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the northern part of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.

It also predicted light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at most places over Rangpur division, at many places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a met office bulletin today.

Country’s highest temperature on Saturday was recorded 34.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and today’s lowest temperature 22.3degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 267 millimeters (mm) at Rangpur.

The sun sets at 5.49 pm today and rises at 5.49 am tomorrow in the capital.
