CHATTOGRAM, Sept 22, 2020 (BSS) – The total number of recovered patients from the deadly coronavirus rose to 14,446 with the curing of 53 more people in the last 24 hours.
“The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” said Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram.
A total of 284 people died from coronavirus in the district till today.
In Chattogram district, a total of 56 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 796 samples in five COVID-19 laboratories.
Among the newly detected patients, 42 are from Chattogram city and 14 from Patiya upazila of the district, hospital sources said.
“The total number of COVID-19 patients now stands at 18,377 only in Chattogram district till today,” Dr Rabbi added.
Among the total infected persons, 12,940 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5,437 are from different upazilas of the district.
Besides, 1,481 patients are undergoing treatment at isolation units of
different hospitals in the port city, the health official mentioned.
